Business Development Manager


Salary:                    up to £50K

Role:

 

·          Development and implementation of business development and sales strategy

·          Promoting the company brand

·          Identifying new and suitable business opportunities

·          Helping  to build new as well as managing existing customer relationships

·          Assist in preparing bids and commercial proposals

·          Negotiate contracts

·          Prepares sales action plans and  monthly sales reports and

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

·          Strong background in technical sales in the rail industry in particular and with Main Contractors.

·          Strong background in electrical projects incorporating HV/LV infrastructure.

·          Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·          Knowledge of project finance, budgeting, cost estimating.

·          Advance IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Project.

·          Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Commercial Engineer / Quantity Surveyor


Salary:                     up to £40K

Role

 

·        Development and implementation of commercial project delivery in a conventional ‘Quantity Surveyor’ capacity.

·        Preparing financial and/or operational analyses and reports

·        Audits current projects to monitor and improve purchasing functions and ultimately margin delivery of efficiency of projects.

·        Project support in the preparation of tenders for electrical HV/LV infrastructure projects.

·        Provides advice and assistance to Operations Director in planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures

·        Represents the organisation at various business meetings.

·        Effective proactive liaison with operational departments re resourcing internally and externally.

·        Provide professional advice and commercial support to the other areas of the business, including Utilities, Private Networks and Rail.

 

Qualifications:

 

·        B.Sc in Quantity Surveying and or HND in Building Studies.

·        Member of the RICS.

·        Strong background in quantity surveying, and project management and estimating.

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·        Knowledge of project finance, budgeting, cost estimating.

·        Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Project.

Project Engineer

Main Purpose: The purpose of this role is to provide Electrical Power Engineering support for Project Managers and Engineering Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Provide Electrical Engineering expertise throughout project life-cycle (tendering/ procurement/ design/ installation/ commissioning).

·        Produce Method Statements for Engineering Installation works.

·        Supervise site installation and commissioning where required.

·        Carry out site testing of HV protection schemes.

·        Carry out testing and commissioning of transformers, switchgear and associated control schemes.

·        Assistance with staff training and development planning/support.

·        Client interface/meetings.

·        Project implementation and management of site staff.

·        Technical/Safety Audits & inspections.

·        Bid/tender assistance and occasional sales support.

 

Qualifications:

 

·        Electrical Power Engineering qualification, HNC level preferred.

·        Computer literacy (CAD Experience essential).

·        Health and Safety (IOSH/NEBOSH) desirable.

 

Experience preferred:

 

Essential:

 

·        Broad knowledge of power engineering plant and equipment, i.e. Transformers, Switchgear, cables, protection schemes.

·        Responsibility for implementation (installation & commissioning) of large HV installations.

 

Desirable:

 

·        DNO experience (either directly employed or via a sub-contractor) or experience on sites with a large HV network.

·        Operational switching (SAP/AP) experience on 11kV/33kV networks.

·        Manage the outstanding sales ledger balances falling due.

·        Develop a thorough knowledge of customers' payment trends, documenting relevant information relating to the account and contact customers before balances become overdue to confirm payments.
